The Pinecrest Lake View XC/Snowshoe trail is designed to be a very gradual out and back trail for beginners to ski out to a grand vista of Pinecrest lake and the South Fork of the Stanislaus canyon above Pinecrest lake. This trail starts at the end of the Pinecrest Ave outside of the Forest Service administration area on the service road that goes to the water tanks and the dam. It starts right before the closed gate on that road.
This is the view from the end of the ski trail. The exact route is still being researched.
